On October 11, we join the United Nations in observing International Day of the Girl Child, a day dedicated to recognizing girls’ rights and the unique challenges they face worldwide.
     This year’s theme, “The girl I am. The change I lead: Girls on the frontlines of crisis,” spotlights the remarkable ways girls are stepping up, leading, and making a difference even in the toughest times. It’s also a chance to celebrate their resilience, strength, and leadership. For IDGC 2025, we want to amplify girls’ voices by creating a Girls Declaration of Change, shaped by the thoughts and dreams of girls ages 4–18.
     We invite you to sit down with your daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, godchild, student, or any young girl in your life and talk about:

• How are girls leading change?

• What do girls bring to the table as leaders?

• What obstacles keep girls’ voices from being heard?

• What would help girls step into leadership?

• What does “The girl I am, the change I lead” mean to you?
